Last Sunday I made my first visit to Cardiff International White Water course along with Vicky, Liz and Guy. Despite being open for nearly a year I hadn’t yet made a visit to the course and, to be honest I heard a few less that positive comments made about it.
It was great.
That is to say I was really surprised at how much fun it was. Obviously my colleagues would say it was their company, and that undoubtedly helped, but the course itself was actually extremely entertaining.
The water is fast moving, as are the eddies; swirly and surging enough to keep you on your toes. Indeed getting caught out by the speed left Guy’s boat with rather a large dent in the side.
Surprisingly all the playholes seemed friendly as well, and racing down the course boaterX style rocks (despite losing to Liz). Just remember to roll quickly as it’s quite shallow!
