Another year has passed and that means it Blastathon time again! Once again Dave managed to arrange things so that there was enough water in the Thames to provide primo blasting levels at Abingdon Weir.
With a record turn out this year the event ran like a well oiled machine. There were around forty competitors, many of them travelling from such far flung exotic locations as Essex, Bristol and Lemmington Spa, which made for a great atmosphere on the water and at the post-blasting party.
Congratulations to Matt for winning the men’s competition and the Chris Wheeler Memorial Trophy. Also a big congratulations to Kate who managed to win the ladies class despite dislocating her shoulder in the process. Hopefully she’ll be mended soon.
Thanks, as always, to Dave for organising a great event and a special thanks for everyone who came along to take part, spectate and generally contribute to a fantastically enjoyable day.
