Top to Bottom

The weekend before Christmas a bunch of friends decided to paddle the River Dart from top to bottom. Starting where the East and West Darts join to form the main river Dart at Dartmeet all the way to the sea at Dartmouth.

Taking in the more difficult white water sections early in the morning before meandering though the easier sections to the tidal section and finally ending the day at Dartmouth Castle it took us seven hours for us to complete the entire distance of just under 50km. It was hard work considering the lack of paddling (or indeed exercise) I’ve done recently but a fine day out none the less.
